Landcare Victoria Inc. is pleased to announce the official appointment of Claire Hetzel as its Chief Executive Officer. Claire has been serving in the Acting CEO position since June 2023 and the Landcare Victoria Board is excited to have Claire lead the organisation into its next stage of development.
With almost 20 years’ experience working in senior roles within a broad range of not-for-profit organisations, Claire has a passion for enabling community-driven initiatives. She brings a dynamic and forward-thinking approach to the CEO role and is committed to supporting the organisation's 600+ member groups, while enhancing the collaborative impacts of landcare and its partners.
Under Claire's leadership, Landcare Victoria will focus on implementing the Landcare Plan for Victoria 2023 - 2033, by working beside the landcare community to achieve the collective goals and priorities outlined in the Plan. The organisation is also set to embark on the ambitious New Futures for Victorian Landcare program, an innovative pilot project designed to address emerging challenges and opportunities in landscape scale management.
Claire expressed her commitment to the role, stating, “I am honoured to lead Landcare Victoria and to work collaboratively with our dedicated staff, Board, Members Council, member groups and the wider landcare community. Together, we will work hard to create a positive impact on Victoria's landscape and ensure a sustainable future for generations to come.”
